	tween Europe's humanitarian rhetoric\nand the violent reality of its borde
	rs. The EU wants to appear human rights\ndefender\, but outsources the dir
	ty work to authoritarian regimes.\n\nFor years\, the EU has built its migr
	ation policy on the "fiction" that it could\nexternalize borders without e
	xternalizing responsibilities. It signs contracts\nwith regimes that syste
	matically violate human rights\, paying them to keep\npeople away from Eur
	opean soil. Morocco has become a key partner in this\nbusiness of containm
	ent—a relationship that makes Europe dangerously dependent\nand vulnerable
	.\n\nThe Ceuta crisis exposed this: 70\,000 people crossed from Morocco in
	 hours. At\nleast 88 died.\nThe far-right weaponized it. The response from
	 European leaders has been\ntelling. Rather than showing solidarity with S
	pain or expressing concern for the\nlives lost\, several EU member states 
	immediately attacked Madrid . Italy and\nDenmark led the charge\, with far
	-right Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni\ndemanding emergency talks to
	 tighten external borders . The Spanish government\nwas left isolated for 
	taking a more humanitarian approach. Czech PM Babiš called\nfor Spain's Sc
	hengen suspension. Meanwhile\, Spain's regularization scheme was\nattacked
