Atmosféra kolem nás houstne. Věci, který ještě nedávno působily jako okraj, se čím dál častěji derou do středu společnosti: fašizace, rasismus, queerfobie, nacionalismus, autoritářství, kult síly, strachu a poslušnosti. Roste prostor pro nenávist, pro rozdělování lidí, pro jednoduchý odpovědi na složitej svět. Nechceme tu zpět žádný devadesátky, ani vzpomínky na pochody skrz Janov a další města. Fašismus, nacismus a rasismus nemaj prostor nikde, ani na scéně, ani pod ní, ani v reálnym životě. Nikde.
Riot Over River je přesně proti tomu. Proti fašismu, sexismu, patriarchátu, proti hranicím mezi lidmi, proti nadvládě, vykořisťování a lhostejnosti. Proti světu, kde se důstojnost, bezpečí a svoboda dávkujou podle původu, identity, třídy, těla nebo pasu. Riot Over River stojí na antifašismu, solidaritě, DIY kultuře, vzájemnosti a odporu vůči všemu, co z lidí dělá nepřátele.
Náckové útočili minulej rok ve Frýdku, zaútočili letos na Atzeho po AFA festu, fašisti tu sedí v parlamentu a ruští náckové okupují Ukrajinu. Je nutné se jim postavit všude, kde to jen trochu jde.
Zároveň nechceme být jen "proti". Chceme budovat místa, kde se dá nadechnout, potkat, sdílet, tančit, křičet, učit se a držet spolu. Chceme vytvářet pozitivní prostor, který není útěkem z reality, ale oporou v ní. Komunitu, ze který se dá čerpat síla, péče i odvaha ke změně. Protože lepší svět nezačíná až někdy potom. Začíná teď a tady.

The atmosphere around us is getting heavier. Things that not so long ago seemed pushed to the margins are forcing their way back into the center of society: fascism, racism, queerphobia, nationalism, authoritarianism, the cult of strength, fear and obedience. The space for hatred is growing. The space for dividing people is growing. The space for simple answers to a complicated world is growing. We don’t want the nineties back. We don’t want memories of nazi marches through Janov. Fascism, Nazism and racism have no place anywhere — not on the stage, not under it, not in real life. Nowhere.
Riot Over River stands exactly against this. Against fascism, against borders between people, against domination, exploitation and indifference. Nazis attacked in Frýdek last year. They attacked Atze after AFA Fest this year. Fascists sit in parliament and Russian nazis are occupying Ukraine. We have to stand against them everywhere we possibly can. Riot Over River stands on antifascism, solidarity, DIY culture, veganism, mutual aid and resistance to everything that turns people into enemies.
At the same time, we don’t want to be only against something. We want to build places where we can breathe, meet, share, dance, scream, learn and hold each other up. We want to create a positive space that is not an escape from reality, but a source of support within it. A community we can draw strength, care and courage for change from. Because a better world does not begin sometime later. It begins every time we decide to build it together, here and now.
